Connector setup.
Three steps, about two minutes. The connector is a native-messaging host: the browser launches it, it hands captures to Liryn, and it never touches the network itself.
Install Liryn Capture
Add the extension from your browser's store. Pin it to the toolbar if you want the capture button visible.
Install the connector
A signed, notarized macOS package that registers a native-messaging host for Chrome, Edge and Brave in one go. No Terminal.
Download LirynConnector.pkgConfirm in Liryn
Open Liryn › Extensions. Your browser flips to Connected the first time the extension talks to the host. If macOS asks, allow the connector under Privacy & Security.
Install Liryn Capture
Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store (Chrome, Brave) or Edge Add-ons. Snap/Flatpak browsers are not yet supported — use the distro or vendor .deb.
Set up capture in Liryn
There is no separate connector to download on Linux — the native-messaging host ships inside the Liryn package. Open Liryn › Extensions, then click Enable background capture and Register native host.
Confirm the browser
The browser card in Liryn › Extensions reports its registration. If a browser was installed but never opened, open it once to create its profile, then return here and click Register native host again.
- ✓Liryn › Extensions shows your browser as Connected
- ✓Open a page with a non-DRM stream or direct download
- ✓The capture dialog appears in Liryn within a second
Make sure the extension is enabled and the connector is installed. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and confirm LirynNativeHost is allowed to run. Then reload the extension and try a fresh capture — or head to Support.
